Scott Guelcher has won the 2025 Louisville Courier-Journal Color the Derby Jockey Silks Contest for age 21+. The Courier Journal received almost 100 entries for its seventh annual Color the Jockey Silks competition sponsored by COIT Cleaning & Restoration. We asked you to get creative — and that’s exactly what you did. The decorated Kentucky Derby jockey silks you sent us were fun, colorful and unique. A group of judges from The Courier Journal newsroom whittled the entries down to the Top 32 and chose the top entry in four categories: ages 12 and under, ages 13-20, ages 21 and over, and Best Overall.
